Whether you're picking up a learner's permit, brushing up on road rules after a setback, or learning English in a patient, one-on-one setting — we meet you where you are and take you where you need to go.
What We Offer
Every learner is different. That's why we offer flexible, individualized instruction across three core areas — all under one roof in downtown Urbana.
From first-time learners to drivers preparing for their road test, our behind-the-wheel instruction covers everything you need — traffic laws, defensive driving, and real-road confidence on Central Ohio's streets.
Whether you're building English skills for work, school, or daily life, our language courses focus on practical communication — conversation, reading, and writing — with patient, experienced instructors.
One-on-one academic support that actually works. No crowded classrooms, no falling behind — just focused time with an instructor who adapts to how you learn best.

Testimonials
Don't take our word for it — hear from the people who've walked through our doors.
"I failed my road test twice before finding Wellman's. The instructor there didn't just teach me to pass a test — they taught me to actually drive. I passed on my third try and now I drive with confidence every day."
Maria G.
Driving Course Student
"English isn't my first language, and I was nervous about taking a class. But the teachers at Wellman's made me feel comfortable from day one. Six months later, I'm reading at a much higher level and speaking with confidence."
James T.
Language Class Student
"My son needed help in math before his college entrance exams. The private tutoring at Wellman's was exactly what he needed — one-on-one, no distractions, and a teacher who actually understood how he learned. His scores improved dramatically."
